Sarah and Jesse’s Wedding at Aqua Caliente

Capturing love stories through the lens of my camera is always a joy, but Sarah and Jesse’s wedding elopement at Aqua Caliente was something truly special. Their journey to this day was filled with so many challenges, including long-distance separation, Covid restrictions, and immigration laws. But love knows no boundaries, and these two proved that distance is just a temporary obstacle on the path to forever.

Sarah is from England, and Jesse is a native of the United States. They met through the power of social media. Despite the physical distance that separated them, their connection grew stronger with every passing day. Sarah and I instantly bonded over her heritage, creating a comfortable atmosphere right from the start.

When the day arrived Sarah and Jesse were a bit nervous. As their wedding photographer, part of my role is to help couples relax and breathe in those precious moments. I took a moment with them, reminding them to embrace the joy that awaited them. They were perfect!

The ceremony itself was a beautiful and intimate affair. Given the circumstances, Sarah and Jesse had decided to include their loved ones virtually through a Zoom call. It was a testament to their determination to share this special day with everyone, despite the physical limitations. Not only were they live-streaming the ceremony, but they also had another phone recording every precious moment.

I must give a special shoutout to my second shooter, Zsa Zsa, who played a crucial role in ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Zsa Zsa was incredible throughout the entire day, going above and beyond to capture every detail. She even helped hold the phones so the couple could greet their loved ones in England after the ceremony. It was a heartwarming moment, watching Sarah and Jesse’s faces light up as they said hello to all those who couldn’t physically be there.

For me, Sarah and Jesse were a couple of firsts. They were my first international couple, and it was such a thrilling experience to be there for them. They were also the epitome of grace and gratitude, even amidst unexpected challenges.

As a photographer who primarily focuses on other genres, I don’t often delve into the world of weddings and elopements. However, this experience with Sarah and Jesse reminded me of the incredible joy and privilege that comes with capturing love stories. It was a testament that even in the face of adversity, love conquers all.

Sarah and Jesse’s wedding elopement at Aqua Caliente will forever hold a special place in my heart. Witnessing their love and the support they received from friends and family across the world was truly magical.
