Ousel Falls – Montana Maternity Session
Nov 1, 2024
I recently had the joy of traveling to Montana for a beautiful maternity session! It was the perfect excuse to photograph a stunning location beyond the desert landscape I love. While I love Arizona, there’s something refreshing about changing things up and capturing new scenery.
When I plan a trip, I always try to schedule a session. It lets me expand my portfolio and it’s a wonderful to meet new people.
This trip not only gave me an excuse to photograph but it was also the perfect excuse for Kyra and Joseph to enjoy a quiet weekend getaway in Big Sky!
Kyra was such a trooper! She and Joseph went out to explore the location before we met up. A short hike of 1.6 miles took us into the falls (and back), where the stunning waterfall awaited us.
The entire time I was photographing these two, you could just feel their excitement.
You could truly sense their excitement as they prepared to welcome their new baby, and I might be a bit biased, but November is such a wonderful month to be born!
Despite the water drowning out the sound of my voice, they were able to follow along with the various prompts and directions that I use at all my sessions.
With the sun disappearing, we began to head out. As we wrapped up at the falls, we knew we wanted to capture a few more photos.
This gave us the chance to photograph in a second dress and against some beautiful fall foliage, which, if you’re from southern Arizona, you know is not always easy to find.
Thank you, Kyra and Joseph, for trusting me to capture this special time in your lives. I wish you both all the happiness as you step into this beautiful new chapter of parenthood.
