Senior Girl Session at the University of Arizona

To be honest, I was a little bit nervous for Abelha’s senior girl session at the University of Arizona. The weather forecast wasn’t looking so great, and sure enough, it poured all morning leading up to the session.

With only a few hours left before we had to leave, I texted Abelha and asked her what she would like to do. The sky was looking like it was going to clear up, so I had hope that we’d be able to get some awesome shots. 

Fortunately, Abelha was up for the shoot, so we headed out to the University of Arizona. The session went so well! While it did sprinkle some of the time, I kept my camera dry. Fortunately, the university had plenty of alcoves where we could duck into.

Abelha is an extraordinary young lady, so it was a real honor to photograph her senior photos! She brought two different outfits, but the second one was the star of the show! Not only was it super cute, but she actually made it herself! 

She was inspired by Harper from the show, Wizards of Waverley Place. She even embroidered the shoes herself! It can’t have been an easy task, but boy, were the results amazing! Her attention to detail is beyond words. 

Not only is she super talented, but she’s also a part of JTED, a program that helps high school kids dual-enroll and start earning credits towards college. JTED helps so many students jumpstart their careers!

Abelha has been enrolled in the culinary arts program. We made sure to take some photos by the buildings that were most important to her, and show off her amazing outfits while we were at it!

One of those places was the Women’s Plaza of Honor. It’s a historical monument on the campus that honors women and their achievements. It was so fitting to acknowledge Abelha’s accomplishments in a place honoring so many like her!

We also took so many photos at the steps at Old Main and the fountain. I loved this area for so many reasons. This spot is usually packed. This time, however, we had the place more or less to ourselves. Without people milling about, it was a lot easier to capture all the shots we wanted!

Congratulations on all of your amazing accomplishments, Abelha! You and your family must be so proud, and I loved capturing your senior girl session. Never stop following your dreams!
